Manufacturing
Having a bunch of completed projects we know where it is more optimal to manufacture some mechanical parts or order an electric box.

The training throwing machine that helps professional sportsmen to develop their skills for three sports. The machine allows to replicate physical parameters of throwing players, emulates the most used types of throws and can be easily transported between training areas.
Challenge
We were asked to develop a mobile training machine for a robotics startup that focused on equipment for professional sportsmen. The machine has to replicate different players’ characteristics and can be rented out to teams in baseball, softball, and American football.
The developed solution has to be transformable into two main modes — football and baseball — in just a few minutes, ensure fast and far enough throwing for professional league play, track players moving on a football field and throw balls at them, allow remote throwing control by a trained person, perform all main types of gyrospin of baseball balls, and have the first prototype cheap enough to uncover most of the caveats of the selected design and functionality.
Solution
Implementing client’s requirements we made the machine housing splitted into two parts that can be independently loaded into track or van. The mechanical design was made in SOLIDWORKS, strength analysis was made in the Ansys simulation software as we need light and solid enough construction.
The emulation of the thrower player physical characteristics and excellent throwing parameters were implemented via servodrives. The same drives are used for getting powerful enough throws across all playing zone.
We developed a simple pocked device that allows players to control throws and their tracking by machine via UWB communication.
The machine was developed with around 85% of standard mechanical and electrical components that ensures low cost manufacturing and short terms for testing a prototype.
